celebrate the holidays! a lawnscaping blog hop

Welcome to the first ever Lawnscaping Blog Hop!! So glad you're here!! You should have come to me by way of Eve. This month's theme is magical. Holiday projects!! The hop runs from Friday, September 9th to Sunday, September 11th! Make sure to comment on all of the blogs because there are LOTS of prizes to be won!! All the details can be found on the Lawnscaping home page.

I had originally thought that I would make a Halloween card since that is the next holiday here in the States, but it totally didn't turn out the way I had envisioned it. So I moved on to a Christmas card. Afterall, you never can start too early on those!! I featured Bows & Holly and Frosties on this card.

I decided to use a black card base for a bit of a non-traditional feel, but the focal point is very much traditional holiday colors. I stamped the black cardstock with the large snowflakes from Frosties, using versamark ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

My focal point consists of strips of patterned paper and some paper tape. I used Bows and Holly for the sentiment and holly leaves. I colored in the leaves and berries using copics, and then added glossy accents to the berries for added interest. A touch of satin ribbon finishes it off. I then added this to the card base using foam adhesive.

I hope you are enjoying the Blog Hop thus far! I have had so much fun and am beyond excited to be apart of this!! Now head on over to Jordan's blog for more holiday fun!! If you've gotten off track, don't worry!! Head on back to Lawnscaping to see the complete list of designers.

Thanks for stopping by!!
Deb
