a toast or two

Happy Friday!! I am excited for it to be Friday!! I have another layout to share today that I put together for Shimelle's Scrapbooking Weekend...this one is for Challenge #9 which was to consider an outdated challenge open again. I chose the last sketch of the week to consider reopen again. This layout is of the toasts given at our wedding by my maid of honor and my husband's best man. Those are written out on tags and tucked into the glassine bag. I used my Daydream Believer kit from Studio Calico...loved this kit...just getting into it now since I am behind on using my kits. That polaroid paper is one of my favorites!! Love cutting those images apart and using them as extra embellishment.

I am also loving the ruffel paper (see it there on the bottom of the strip across the paper). You're going to see more of that for sure!! Anyway, I hope you have a very happy Friday!! Thanks for stopping by!

so i missed yesterday...

Ok...so my crazy schedule cause me to miss posting yesterday. Never fear, I'll just share two layouts today to catch things up...and I might get tomorrow's post all scheduled so the day doesn't get away from me without posting!!

These two layouts were put together for Shimelle's Scrapbook Weekend challenges, just as the past two were. The first layout I am sharing was put together for Challenge #4 which was to use grey, yellow, and another color...I chose green. I was thinking of using turquoise as my third color, but then it hit me that my college alma mater colors are green and yellow...so naturally grey could totally get added to that mix. The photo that I used is from gradution day. I became friends with these two girls freshman year and still call them friends today.

I had stamped that camera on that tag a LONG time ago and just never used it on anything...it just kept getting shuffled around my desk, so I finally found something it fit with. It came with the Glee Club Studio Calico kit I believe...love that stamp!!

For the second layout I wanted to share today, I took on Challenge #5 which was to take inspiration from a layout by Wilna Furstenburg. At first I had just planned to draw from the tone on tone butterflies, but then I loved the layout so much I ended up CASEing it. Changed up the supplies and put my silhouette to work (really wanting the Cameo, but my SD works just fine so I am resisting...for now).

Happy Thursday!! Can't wait for it to be Friday!! Thanks for stopping by!!

best man

Happy Tuesday!! Hope your day has been great!! I am back with another layout to share...Woo Hoo...two days in a row of blogging!! Today I wanted to share with you another layout I did for Shimelle's Scrapbook Weekend...this one was for Challenge #2 - mixing paper collections. On this layout you'll find papers from Pebbles, American Crafts, Basic Grey, and Studio Calico...not to mention the buttons from My Mind's Eye, the doily punch from Martha Stewart, Basic Grey letter stickers, American Crafts washi tape, and a shipping tag from the office supply store. Oh and I almost forgot the embroidery floss. So there's quite a bit of varity on this page and I am quite happy with how it turned out. BTW...this layout was totally inspired by this Kelly Purkey layout. And the photo is from my wedding almost 11 years ago now (taken by our photographer...Baker Studio of Photography).

Hope the rest of your Tuesday is fabulous and I will catch you back here tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!! Deb

Details

Hello bloggers!! How have you been?? I am so sorry that I haven't been around lately!! But I am here and alive, and all is well in this part of the world, so 'hopefully' regular blogging will start up again starting now!! I have posts planned for the rest of this week into the beginning of next week anyway, and I will find at least 15 minutes of my day to share some projects with you. This week, I am sharing the 8 projects I put together for Shimelle's Scrapbooking weekend last weekend. I would have liked to have gotten to more of the challenges, but with work and life, I was happy to have knocked out 8. And some of them were quite a challenge for me...so that's always a good thing!! All of these projects are already up over at 2peas as well, so feel free to check them out over there and let me know what you think. You can find my projects here.

Anyway, on to the project!! I put this layout together for Shimelle's first challenge which was to scraplift Jamie Warren. I am not going to lie...this was way outside of my usual box. Normally, I scrap horizontally, but this had me scrapping vertically...certainly a challenge for me and one I enjoyed. It's good to break out of the box every now and again!!

I am pretty happy with how this turned out!! The photo is from my wedding almost 11 years ago now and was taken by our wedding photographer (Baker Studio of Photography in Baldwinsville, NY). I used a bunch of stuff from my stash for this layout and added in some new stuff as well. There's Crate, Dear Lizzy for American Crafts, The Girls' Paperie, Love My Tapes washi, Sweet Bella washi, Basic Grey, Hero Arts pearls, a Pebbles flag, Doodlebug twine, Studio Calico mist that I splattered, and some doilies. Loving how it all came together and I may try this style of scrapping again very soon!!

Thanks for stopping by and I will catch you back here tomorrow (I promise)!!
